MOFU

MOFU is the acronym for Middle of the Funnel. It is the intermediate stage of the Marketing Funnel, positioned between TOFU (Top) and BOFU (Bottom). In this phase, the user has moved past simple problem awareness (TOFU) and is actively assessing and comparing the various solutions available.

Synonyms - Middle of the Funnel,Evaluation Stage,Consideration Stage,Middle part of the funnel
Five Forces Model of Porter

The Five Forces Model, developed by Michael Porter, is a strategic analysis framework used to evaluate the level of competitiveness and the attractiveness of a market sector. Instead of just observing direct competitors, this tool analyses the competitive environment from five different angles. The principle is simple: the more intense these forces are, the harder it is for a business to generate a profit in the long term.

LTV

LTV is the acronym for Lifetime Value. It is a strategic metric that estimates the total revenue (or, in more complex calculations, the net profit) that a company can expect to generate from a single customer over the entire duration of their business relationship.

Synonyms - Lifetime Value,Customer Lifetime Value,CLV,Client Lifetime Value
KPI

KPI is the acronym for Key Performance Indicator. It is a quantifiable metric that a company uses to measure and evaluate the effectiveness of its activities against pre-established strategic and operational objectives. In short, KPIs answer the question: "Are we succeeding in reaching our goals?".

Synonyms - Key Performance Indicator,KPI,Performance Metric,Performance Indicator
Junior Poster

The Junior Poster is a static Out-of-Home (OOH) advertising format, essentially a small-scale billboard. Its standard dimensions are approximately 1.8 x 3.6 metres (6 x 12 feet). It is also known by its technical name, the "8-Sheet Poster".

Synonyms - 8-Sheet Poster
Attention Index

The Attention Index (or Attention Score) is a composite metric used in digital advertising and media planning to measure the real effectiveness of an advert in capturing a user's active interest. Unlike viewability (which only measures whether an advert could be seen), the attention index seeks to quantify whether the advert was actually looked at and for how long.

Synonyms - Attention Score,Attention Metric,Digital Attention Index (DAI),Attention Rating
Audience Rating

The Audience Rating (or Audience) is a metric that quantifies the number of people or devices exposed to a particular piece of content (such as a television programme, radio broadcast, or an advertising message) within a specific time interval. It is the fundamental measure for determining the success of a programme and the value of the corresponding advertising slots.

Synonyms - Audience,Ratings,Listening Figures,Rating
Advertising Clutter

The Clutter Index (or Advertising Clutter Index) is a metric used in media planning to measure the density of advertising messages within a specific medium or communication channel (such as a magazine, a television broadcaster, or a web page) during a given time interval. In simple terms, it indicates "how crowded" a space is with advertising, by relating the total advertising space to the editorial or content space.

Synonyms - Clutter,Advertising Density,Advertising Saturation
Halo Effect

The Halo Effect is a cognitive bias (i.e. a distortion of perception) whereby a positive (or negative) impression about a single characteristic of a brand, product, or person unduly influences the overall judgement of all their other, unrelated aspects. Essentially, a single positive quality "illuminates" (like a halo) everything else.

Synonyms - Halo Effect,Halo Impact,Halo
GRP

GRP, an acronym for Gross Rating Point, is a fundamental unit of measurement in advertising planning. It expresses the total advertising pressure exerted by a campaign on a given audience. It does not measure how many unique people are reached, but rather the overall "weight" of the campaign, taking into account both reach (how many people see the advert) and frequency (how many times they see it).

Synonyms - Gross Rating Point,Advertising pressure, Advertising weight
GIGO

GIGO is an acronym that stands for "Garbage In, Garbage Out". It is a fundamental principle of computing and data analysis stating that the quality of the results (Output) produced by a system is directly proportional to the quality of the data provided as input.

Synonyms - Garbage In,Garbage Out
Funnel

The Funnel is a strategic marketing model that visually represents the journey (or Customer Journey ) a user takes to transform from a simple, unknown visitor into a customer. The model describes the different stages of their purchasing experience, from initial awareness through to the final action (Conversion).

Synonyms - Marketing Funnel,Sales Funnel,Customer Funnel,Conversion Funnel,The Funnel
Full-Funnel

The term Full-Funnel (literally, "entire funnel") describes a strategic approach to marketing and advertising that considers, plans, and integrates activities for all stages of the conversion funnel. Instead of focusing on a single, isolated objective (such as only generating awareness or only achieving sales), a Full-Funnel strategy addresses the entire Customer Journey, from initial discovery (TOFU) to evaluation (MOFU), through to the purchase decision (BOFU) and subsequent loyalty.

Synonyms - Full-Funnel Strategy,Full-Funnel Approach,Comprehensive Funnel Marketing
Boomerang Effect

The Boomerang Effect is a phenomenon of persuasion (or, more often, of failed persuasion) whereby a communication message, designed to convince an audience to think or act in a certain way, achieves the exact opposite effect. Instead of adopting the proposed viewpoint, the target rejects the message and strengthens their original belief, or develops a negative opinion towards the brand.

Synonyms - Negative effect,Boomerang Effect,Counterproductive effect,Paradoxical result
E-E-A-T

E-E-A-T is the acronym for Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, and Trustworthiness. It is a set of criteria used by Google to evaluate the overall quality of a web page and its creator. These principles guide Google's Quality Raters (human evaluators) in determining whether content is helpful, accurate, and trustworthy for users.

Synonyms - Google Quality Principles,E-E-A-T Guidelines
